DAY 1: YOUR PATAGONIAN ADVENTURE BEGINS!

The trip begins with you being picked up from your hotel in Punta Arenas or Punta Arenas airport in the morning and driven to EcoCamp Patagonia, located in the world-famous Torres del Paine National Park. En route we make a stop in Puerto Natales, a small, lively town on the shores of “Seno de Ultima Esperanza”, where we enjoy a hearty local lunch. The journey is scenic and highly atmospheric, featuring many wild birds and wonderful Patagonian landscapes. The day ends with our arrival, yoga class to stretch out after a long drive, and overnight stay at EcoCamp Patagonia, nestled in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park and with a prime view of the majestic Torres (towers of rock). Sunset is usually around 11pm during the summer months, meaning that there will still be enough daylight for you to admire the Patagonian steppe with its guanacos and snow-peaked mountain horizon once you arrive.

  • Airport Transfer to Eco Camp, Lunch at Puerto Natales, Yoga Class, Dinner, Overnight at EcoCamp Patagonia

DAY 2: KAYAK AND BOAT TRIP  TO GREY GLACIER

After breakfast at EcoCamp, we will head off at 9am to Grey Lake in the western sector of the park, about a two hour drive away. We cross the glaciar lake in a boat, during which you will get to enjoy views of the Paine massif in addition to the impressive glacier which forms part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. Near the glacier we leave our boat and spend our day kayaking on Grey Lake! Kayaking gear (neoprene suit, waterproof-jacket, gloves, life jacket, spray skirt and boots) are all included for this excursion.
Then we paddle out onto the lake and head towards the eastern face of the glacier! Navigating our way in between gigantic floating icebergs, eventually we come almost face-to-face with the mighty wall of the glacier itself. We will stop to enjoy lunch and a hot drink to replenish our energy, while admiring the immensity of the iceberg and its myriad shades of blue. Then we take the boat back passing the glacier, returning to land and boarding the van to EcoCamp for our evening aperitif and meal.

  • Overnight at Ecocamp Patagonia

DAY 3: FULL TREK TO TOWER BASE

We will walk from EcoCamp towards Hostería Las Torres before ascending to Ascencio Valley on the Tower’s eastern face. Mountain ridges, beech forests and small rivers line the scenic walk towards the valley. Our big challenge comes in the form of the steep moraine, a huge mass of boulders which will lead us to the iconic base-view of the Towers – Three gigantic granite monoliths, the remains of a great cirque sheared away by the forces of glacial ice. After a tough uphill climb, the Towers eventually come into full view, rising majestically before us, with the glacial lake visible below. Is there any better place in the world to have lunch? After feasting on the view and our picnic, we backtrack along the same trail through Ascencio Valley and return to EcoCamp for a well-deserved dinner and relaxing Yoga class.
  • Breakfast, Box Lunch, Dinner, Yoga Class, Overnight at Ecocamp Patagonia

DAY 4: OPTION TO CHOOSE A or B:

A. PATAGONIA HORSE RIDING

One of the best ways to enjoy all that Patagonia has to offer is by riding through it on horseback. This excursion departs at 9:30am, after we have a hearty breakfast at  EcoCamp. We will admire the most spectacular parts of Paine hill with a full day of horseback riding. Venturing through forest and crossing streams, all the while surrounded by amazing greenery. There are 5 different prairies along this trip and experienced riders are welcome to gallop through these parts at their leisure. If you visit in February, you will be able see the Encantado valley. Lunch will be served at the Seron campsite, where we will enjoy a spectacular view, featuring parts of las Torres, Mount Admiral Nieto, the Blue lagoon and the Paine River. Depending on our group we can decide to stay out riding past 4:00pm or choose to head back early to EcoCamp and enjoy an evening cocktail. If you are a horseback riding fanatic this is the perfect adventure for you! If this excursion is cancelled because of climate conditions, it will be replaced by the trek to French Valley.

B. CYCLING THROUGH ESTANCIA LAGUNA AZUL

After breakfast, we start our biking adventure. The roughly 10 km morning bike excursion follows a route inside the Laguna Azul estancia close to where it meets Baguales, heading up to Saltos Las Chinas.

Once we are back at Laguna Azul, we will enjoy our box lunch with a beautiful view of the Towers and when we are ready to continue, the van will take us to the next bike track.

The second excursion is a 17 km biking track through Cañadón Macho, finishing at a junction with the road near Cascada Paine. Although the cycling is not too demanding, there are some sections of the trail that have some difficulty at the point where Cañadon Macho crosses a meadow and starts climbing, followed by an undulating stretch of descent, which is a little steep and rocky.

  • Breakfast, Box Lunch, Dinner, Overnight at Ecocamp Patagonia

View of Laguna Azul

DAY 5: FULL DAY TREK TO LOS CUERNOS WITH OVERNIGHT AT REFUGIOS

We begin this day with a pleasant walk through the sinuous Cuernos Trail which leads us alongside the beautiful Lake Nordenskjold. During this warm-up walk we will have the opportunity to admire the park’s exquisite flora and fauna, as we enjoy the magnificent views of the park’s central lakes and the Paine’s Horns, majestic black horn-like peaks of slate atop gray granite which crowns the center of the Massif. The trek ends at Refugio/Campsite Los Cuernos, a small and cozy mountain refuge located on the shores of Lake Nordenskjold. The evening is free for relaxing and enjoying dinner.
  • Breakfast, Box Lunch, Dinner, Overnight at Refugios Los Cuernos

DAY 6: FULL DAY TREK FROM LOS CUERNOS TO FRENCH VALLEY

After breakfast at Refugio Los Cuernos, we will begin the challenging trek to Valle Frances (French Valley), along a steep trail that leads to the very heart of the Paine Massif. How far in we go depends on our group’s trekking rhythm. A swifter walk will lead us to the hanging bridge over the French River, located at the foot of the south-east face of the Massif, where we will be treated to fantastic views of the valley.

We will then continue to ascend towards the upper section of the valley where we will be able to marvel at the extensive mass of the valley’s geological formations: Hoja (Blade), Máscara (Mask), Espada (Sword), Catedral (Cathedral), Aleta de Tiburón (Shark’s Fin) and the magnificent Fortaleza (Fortress). After our upward trek, we will pause for a picnic and relax a while. This day’s trek will end as we descend through an undulating terrain of mixed grassland and light forest which will take us to Refugio Paine Grande area where we will take the catamaran across Pudeto Lake and a private transfer will be waiting to take us to Ecocamp. After our arrival, we’ll have 1 hour to enjoy a relaxing Yoga class before dinner.

  • Breakfast, Box Lunch, Dinner, Yoga Class, Overnight at Eco Camp

DAY 7:  DEPARTURES

After breakfast and our goodbyes (hugs and kisses) we will board an early morning transfer to the airport. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a scenic ride back to Punta Arenas to catch your evening flight to Santiago.
  • Breakfast, Airport Transfer. Bon Voyage!
